Global equity indexes are trading in opposite directions currently ahead of Trump’s tariffs announcement at 21:00 CET today after Wall Street ended mixed second session in a row on Tuesday amid weak data. Tesla shares surged 3.6% outperforming market ahead of first quarter delivery report today, Amazon shares gained 1.0% on Tuesday.

The Dollar strengthening continues currently. The live dollar index data show the ICE US Dollar index, a measure of the dollar’s strength against a basket of six rival currencies, ended 0.04% higher on Tuesday.
EUR/USD accelerated its sliding while GBP/USD reversed its retreating as statistics agency Eurostat reported euro zone inflation slowed as expected to 2.2%. Both Pound and euro are lower against the dollar currently. USD/JPY reversed its climbing while AUD/USD reversed its retreating on Tuesday with the yen lower against the Greenback currently and Australian dollar higher still.

Futures on three main US stock indexes are down currently with the yield on benchmark 10-year US notes down at 4.199%. Stock indexes ended mixed on Tuesday recording daily returns in a range from -0.03% to 0.87% amid reports White House is considering roughly 20% tariff on most imports. Meanwhile data showed US manufacturing contracted in March after growing for two straight months, and producer prices inflation accelerated to the highest pace in nearly three years.
European stock indexes futures are lower currently after closing higher on Tuesday as European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said European Union is open to negotiations with the US on tariffs but will take retaliatory measures if necessary. Asian indexes futures are mixed today with Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index leading gains.

Brent is extending losses currently. Prices ended lower yesterday while Russia ordered Black sea oil terminals that serve as Kazakhstan’s main oil export terminal to close two of its three moorings, taking Kazakhstan’s exports from around 1.4 million barrels per day to 700,000. The Energy Information Administration (EIA) will release its US crude oil inventory data at 16:30 CET today. The US oil benchmark West Texas Intermediate (WTI) slid 0.4% and is lower currently. Brent slipped 0.37% to $74.49 a barrel on Tuesday.
